She was called ‘Valencia’…. “Bravery” it means, they beamed! Provoked was my mind, Urging me to pen few lines down! Brave she will be expected to be, Huh! Societal expectations, my dear. Courageous in heart and mind? Could she not crib and whine?, pondered my brain. Years later…..Tears rolled down her cheeks! Father rebuked, “Hold them back”; Mother cajoled, “Be a tough one dear”; Agony intensified, eyes purging more of those pearls. Yes! Valencia she was – The BRAVE one! Brave in her thoughts and in her deeds; Brave in her expressions – expressions of emotions! She is meant to be brave….Not impassive! Behold World! She is more precious than her name……………..
